i can answer this. when i went to basic i was told just to bring a change of clothes pretty much. i showed up with the clothes on my back, the bra on my boobs, the PJ’s from the night before in my bookbag and thats about it and the clothes from the day before.
they take away any civilian stuff you have when you get to the base. i wouldn’t bring anything with you really.
they give you a $300 advance in your pay on a little card and send you to this tiny store full of stuff you need. they will give you a list of stuff to buy.
some of the stuff on the list include.
    white underwear
    white sports bras.
running shoes to fit your type of foot (they’ll tell you what type of foot you have when you get there)
white socks…up to your calf haha.
    razors
    Shaving cream
    2 washcloths
    2 towels
    Toothpaste and Toothbrush with case
    Dental Floss
    Hairbrush or 6″ comb
    Antiperspirant/deodorant
Shower shoes (flip flop type things)
    Personal Hygiene Items
    Shampoo
    Soap and Soap case
now make sure you bring the following…
    Social Security Card
    Drivers License
SF 1199A (Direct Deposit Form) signed by bank official (Bring two if you pay child support)
    Current marriage license (if applicable)
    Divorce Decree (if applicable)
    Child(ren)’s birth certificate(s)
Proof of citizenship (if not born in the USA)
    Documentation for any ROTC experience
    College transcript(s)
Copy of lease for off-post quarters if married.
If married to another service member you must provide the name, SSN, and military address of spouse
bring all the applies to you…good luck.

OK, this is what I brought to basic. White sports bras, and cotton granny panties. You’re not trying to impress anyone and thongs will creep up your butt ridiculously during PT. Also, your drill instructor will be teaching you how to fold all your clothes for inspections, and you don’t want him picking up you frilly underthings. Don’t bring a ton of clothes, just the clothes you are wearing, and maybe one change of clothes. Jeans and T-shirt are best since you will be wearing them until you get your uniforms issued. Wear comfortable sneakers for the same reason. Do not wear jewelry! You will get made fun of big time by the instructors, and you will have to take it off anyway, including earrings. Bring some clear or hair-colored elastic bands or hair colored barrettes, depending on the length of your hair. Disposable razors are good because you don’t have to make sure they are clean for inspection. Bring a tweezers and a small sewing kit. Nail clippers are good too. I used a two-in-one shampoo/conditioner to minimize the item in my locker. Also shower gel works best for inspection, so you don’t have to clean up the soapy residue.
If you want any other info. Feel free to contact me by e-mail.

Unless things have changed since I went to Basic, you will be issued underwear with your initial clothing issue.
Males were issued the brown T-shirts, brown brief underwear, green wool blend socks.
Females were issued, brown T-shirts, white bras & panties (cotton I believe), green wool blend socks.

as a recruiter we tell you that all you bring is your SSN, Birh cert, HS diploma, calling card, some money and that is it, all other things will be given to you at BT. Of course it will come out of your pay but you are not required to bring anything but as listed above. Good luck and thank you for your service.

You will be issued panties. My female recruits called them granny panties. Take at least one good quality sports bra. You can take a fancier one, but it will take up what little personal space you’ll have in your locker.

Probably sports bras and cotton undies. You will be sweating a lot.

Keep it simple and comfortable. Wash and wear stuff is best.

I agree with PJ, sports bra, since you will be sweating a lot.
